This novel began as a personalized fairytale for two young children. As a result many of the characters in the book are named after people that the author and her daughters know in real life. Of course this is a fantasy world so the characters and their name sakes are not one in the same. However, some of these alter egos are more alike than others.

Of all the alter egos, Scooby and Scoobee are the most alike.
